The application for the 2023 Brussels-Lux Study Tour is closed.

Please apply through the University of Pittsburgh’s website

Application Deadline: January 17, 2023

The Brussels-Lux Study Tour is a unique, one-week experience in Brussels and Luxembourg for K-12, community college, and MSI educators. Participants will be selected from diverse communities and disciplines through a nationwide search, with spots reserved for educators from FL, NC, and PA. On and after the tour, educators will develop lesson plans and MEETEU360 virtual reality presentations to teach the EU in their classrooms. The lessons will be posted on our MEET EU website as open access resources. The now 6-day tour will include visits to all EU institutions in Brussels, the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg, and a content workshop to help educators develop EU-focused lesson plans.

The Study Tour builds on the annual Brussels Study Tour led by UNC and the University of Pittsburgh Centers. The new site and Luxembourg additions highlight the EU’s unique structure for US-based educators, while extending time to workshop lesson plans with their peers. The Brussels-Lux Study Tour participants will discuss data privacy, security and defense, and climate change — among other critical issues — during their activities.

The Tour provides opportunities to dive deeply into the democratic structures of the EU as well as the EU’s focus on equality and climate change. The Tour also allows educators a first-hand look at the EU institutions, and provides valuable network building opportunities.
